about
Russ
Curtis grew up in Santa Monica,
California and has been photographing
since the early 1970s when he got
a Kodak
X-15 camera for Christmas. The
$20 camera used 126 film cartridges,
Magicube flashes and had only fixed
focus, but he was hooked.
He
has a Journalism degree from Cal
State Long Beach and did additional multimedia studies
at San Francisco State University.
Over the years, he worked for the
LA Daily News, LA Times and the
AP.
Now
based in San Francisco, Russ specializes
in capturing people and events for
corporations, magazines, and individuals.
He's also a general member of the
American
Society of Media Photographers
(ASMP).
He delivers well-composed, excellently
lit photographs in digital file
format or on traditional film. Many
of his stock images are represented
by Photo
Researchers in New York.
